Immigration March in L.A.

I was about head over to LAPL when I kept hearing loud chants on Broadway. I though it was another downtown filming crew, in actuality it was an immigration march that I was unaware of. This march was due to Elvira Arellano preasents in Los Angeles. If you are unaware who Elvira Arellano is, she is part of the sancturary movement taking place in the U.S. Elvira sought santuary in Chicago church to avoid deportation and separation from her 8-year-old American son.

Here is an article from the Guardian.

Rigoberta Menchú mistaken for bag lady.... say what?

Cancun's five-star Hotel Coral Beach mistaked Nobel prizewinner as a beggar or another street vendor. Thats a trip aint it, they first try to exterminate the indigenous people of america and then use the indigenous image as a sales pitch to visit México.

Thank Feministing for the 411.
